Description

From phones to smartphones, welcome to the buzzing world of Mad Tendencies.
An ironic journey through the history of popular music in its broadest sense is told through the lens of primitive machines. Using dial-up to connect to the Internet, we attempt to escape into an approaching virtual world of purity.

Unlike the previous release, this EP consists solely of synthetic sounds. Lead synths replace distorted guitars, either complementing or clashing with squealing and buzzing tones. The arrangements are more intricate, filled with layered vocals and backing harmonies.

As with the first album, this release isn't without its flaws, particularly in terms of drum samples and bass sounds—several sounds from the Casio CT-470 keyboard remain in use. However, most of the sounds on this album are original creations.

Genre-wise, this EP is harder to categorize than the previous album. It could perhaps be described as a fusion of breakbeat, electro-punk, electro-rock, and various other styles. Buzzing tones dominate, creating a noisy, aggressive, and high-energy soundscape with a wide range of influences. Imagine James Brown in the style of The Prodigy, followed by Bill Cobham blending it with Metallica, while vocals in the style of the Beastie Boys evolve into Pixies. Suddenly, Charles Mingus makes an appearance, and Jesus Lizard meets 2 Unlimited, who then transforms into The Sisters of Mercy.
